9-1-1 簡介
E-Comm公司為大溫哥華地區(Metro Vancouver)、陽光海岸地區(SCRD)及恵斯勒地區提供9-1-1服務,也同時為以下地區的警察及消防部門提供緊急調度服務。
9-1-1服務由大溫哥華地區(Metro Vancouver)外判給E-Comm公司。大溫哥華地區(Metro Vancouver)從區內各市的地稅中征收9-1-1服務費用。
當9 -1-1接線生接到來電時,他們會先問:"請講您需要那一種服務 -- 警察、消防或救護車?" 然後確認來電者所在的城市。接下來E-Comm公司的任務是將來電立即轉接到所要求的相關部門。E-Comm公司的接線生會在線上陪著報案者,直到接通所 需要的部門為止,整個過程通常需要25-30秒鐘。
如果來電者不確定需要何種服務,訓練有素的E-Comm公司接線生會 問幾個重點問題,以便幫助他決定所需要的服務,並為之接通相關的部門。接通之後,相關部門的調度員可以在任何時間內,聯繫其他部門一同回應提供援助。舉例 來說,如果卑詩救護車服務接到來電而需要警察到場,他們會聯繫適當的警察部門/支隊要求提供援助。
